‘Nice Guy’ Has Tough Time Picking Sides in Friends’ Divorce; Ultimately Sides with Husband Due to Hatred of Women

These days, marriages are more often to end in divorce than last forever.  It’s painful enough for those in the relationship.  But, it poses a messy challenge for friends as well. Zach & Fiona Baron recently decided to call it quits – it was pretty amicable, they just grew apart.  Collateral damage few as well: their longtime friends, Carrie & Mike Siler, felt like they had to pick sides, following the break up.  It was easy for Carrie, as she and Fiona had a friendship that dated back to the sorority, and she partly blamed Zach for letting the romance die.

The real quandary was Mike – see, Mike is a quintessential good guy! Picking between friends would be impossible.  Hey, why couldn’t we all just be friends.  It took weeks for him, and a lot of contemplation, late nights.  If pressed, he’d have to make a choice.  It’d be easier to side with Fiona, because that’s what his wife Carrie had done. But, it was more complicated.

After a lot more deep soul-searching, he determined maybe this wasn’t as tough a choice as he’d made it out to be.  Mike realized he had long hated all women, for almost all of time – his sister, his mom, even his wife.  So, while it’s never easy, Mike stuck to his values and called up Zach to see if he wanted to maybe play some golf, or go out drinking and see if they couldn’t bed him a new stupid fucking bitch.

Mike & Carrie are now separated, as well.
