Fire Dept Shot Unarmed Black Cat out of Tree - Nine Lives Matters Responds

In a sad continuation of the systemic racism so peacefully protested this past year, a close-minded firefighter in Aurora, Illinois, shot an unarmed black cat out of a tree.  Aurora Fire Dept crews were called to the home of Agnes Williams to help get her cat out of the small tree in her front yard – and things just escalated.

Ryan Dawkins, the accused firefighter claimed “It all happened so fast – I brought the ladder from the truck in a routine rescue, then I thought I saw the cat turn quickly and reach for something concealed – I swear it didn’t even register with me that the cat was black…now, I’m facing a lot of backlash and could lose my job.”

Ryan’s boss, the Chief (no offense to Native Americans), weighed in on the controversy: “I guess in this case, black cats really are bad luck.”, which added unnecessary proverbial gas to the fire.  At press time, the Aurora Fire Station was surrounded by activists from the Nine Lives Matter advocacy group.
